Our Renovation Process

From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, we are involved in every step of your renovation journey. Although every renovation project is different, our process to ensure success remains the same with each of our clients.

Initial Consultation

In our initial consultation, it is important for us to not only see the space, take measurements and pictures – but to also get a better understanding of what our clients truly desire. As much as we may have ideas circling in our heads on what’s best for the space, we believe that it is important to listen to our clients to make their dreams come true. We take the time to understand their wants, needs, budgetary requirements, and their design style. This part of the process is very important for us to build trust with out clients. Our initial consultations are always free and no obligation is necessary to our clients. We believe you cannot price a renovation project accurately without seeing the space first, and meeting the people who will be living in it.

Estimate and Design Presentation

In our second meeting, we bring along the estimate and explain the renovation process and cost further in depth. We also bring samples based on what was previously discussed in the initial consultation. If any basic floorplan/design work is necessary, we bring that along too. Most of our pricing is based on specific floorplans/designs. Our estimates are all inclusive unless stated otherwise.

Contract Signing

If our client chooses to work with us, the next step is to sign a contract. This not only insures our protection, but more importantly – yours as the homeowner. We offer flexible payment schedules based on the length of the job. Signing the contract allows us to move on to the next stage of the renovation process.

Booking the Crew & Purchasing Materials

When the contract is signed and the deposit is received, we go ahead and book the crew necessary to complete your specific renovation project. We have multiple crews and each team is better suited to different projects we may have. We always use licensed and insured labourers, plumbers and electricians. If we need to have any of our trades on site before the start day, we usually have a trades day to put our heads together for larger projects.

Ever since Covid, we have learnt that we need to purchase materials as soon as possible. This prevents unnecessary delays in the renovation process. Our clients are involved in picking materials as much as they want to be. We have some clients who prefer to come with us to tile stores, countertop fabricators or other vendors – whereas some clients are more hands off. We prepare a package for fixtures like faucets, toilets, and more to show each of our clients based on their design preferences.

Start Day & Renovation

The start day is arguably the busiest day in the entire process. We spend time preparing the job site for demolition including putting down protective covers, sectioning off the renovation area, and getting our team acquainted with the plan and schedule. Work then begins. If demolition is needed, it is usually the loudest and messiest part. Each job is different, but we schedule the trades accordingly to ensure the job goes according to schedule. We communicate with our clients throughout the entire process on which of our trades are coming and when. We are there frequently to oversee the progress our team is making to ensure everything is moving smoothly.

Walkthrough & Warranty

At the end of the project we do a final walkthrough to ensure our clients are 100% satisfied. Throughout the entire process, we keep a close eye to ensure everything functions properly and looks great. Construction cleaning services are included for jobs that require it so there is less work for the homeowner when it is time to start enjoying the space. We offer a one year warranty of workmanship for all of our clients in addition to the warranties that come with the materials themselves. Our goal is to provide peace of mind with every renovation project completed.

We hope to simplify the renovation process for our clients. This starts with clear communication and understanding of the different steps in the renovation process. Each project is different, but with planning and scheduling, any renovation can run smoothly.
